Funeral services for Amy McManus Bourgeois,54, of Crowville, will be held at 3PM on Sunday, February 23,2025 at Crowville Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville, LA, with Rev. Wayne Ray and Rev. Jeff Sykes officiating. The visitation will be from 1PM until the time of service at the church, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.
Amy was born October 1, 1970, in Delhi, LA to the union of late Vernon "Mac" McManus and Rebecca Grissom McManus, and passed away February 20,2025, in River Ridge, LA.
Amy is preceded in death by her father, Vernon McManus, maternal grandparents Ray and Lorena Grissom, and paternal grandparents Webb and Maebell McManus.
She is survived by her son Matthew Schriver, her mother Rebecca McManus and two brothers Clifton McManus and Roger McManus. She is also so survived by her nieces and nephews, Jessie McManus, Noah McManus, April Huddleston and Rachael McManus, as well as cousins Thomas and Shirley Hammons and family.
Amy was a member of Crowville Methodist Church, where she attended her whole life, and was christened as a child. She loved to travel, especially to Branson and Gatlinburg, while always having a cup of coffee in her hands. Amy was a very hard worker, even working through all her sicknesses.
Amy was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the young age of 8. She battled this disease for many years, eventually going on dialysis and accepting a liver and pancreas transplant. For 7 years after her transplant, she was able to come off dialysis for 7 years and enjoy her life free. Amy was then diagnosed with MS, muscular sclerosis, later in life, that took a toll on her body. She passed away peacefully, with her childhood best friend by her side Sharon Baugh.
Pallbearers will be Lane Huddleston, Ken McManus, Noah McManus, Ethan Reid, Keith Roegner, and Pedro Weems.
