Funeral services for Annie Pearl Thornton Sanders, 89, of Winnsboro will be held 2 PM Sunday June 11, 2023, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home, with Billy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
Annie was born on September 18, 1933 and passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023, she was the oldest daughter of Otis and Eveline Thornton.
Annie spent many years of her life working as a medical secretary and certified counselor. Annie was the definition of a true southern lady. One of her greatest joys was taking care of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Sanders, her daughter and son-in-law Portia and John Graney, her sister and brother-in-law, Odean and Gaylon Rasberry and her great-great granddaughter Lextyn Campbell.
She leaves behind the greatest love her of her life, her grandchildren: Amanda Flores, Jarred Flores, Carissa and Lloyd Peoples; great grandchildren: Hailey and Zach Smith, Garrison Peoples, Gabbie Peoples, Hannah Knox and Jordy Campbell, Hunter Flores, Thatcher Peoples, and Bryer Flores; great-great grandchildren, Jace Smith and Weslan Campbell. Also left behind to cherish her memory are a host of esxtended family, Sandra Parker, Susan Britt, and Kevin Bass; her caretaker neighbors, Johnny and Linda Hart and Shonda Boley; her lifelong best friend Elois Arnold; and special chosen granddaughters, Roxanne Sanders and Kasey Moore.
Pallbearers include Jordy Campbell, Hunter Flores, Jarred Flores, Garrison Peoples, Lloyd Peoples, Thatcher Peoples and Zach Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Bass and Johnny Hart.
Annie had a lasting impact on everyone she met. She is so loved and left a rich and everlasting legacy for her family to carry on.
