With deepest sorrow, we announce that Michael Blake Ezell, 22, our beloved son, brother, grandson, family member and friend passed suddenly on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his home in Gilbert.
Blake was born in Natchez, MS and grew up in Gilbert. He was a loving son and best friend to his mother. He was always the life of the party and could walk in a dark room and the room would light up. Blake saw no color and befriended everyone.
He is preceded in death by his loving grandmother Terri Lea McDaniel Martin; great grandparents: Samuel and Ernestine McDaniel, Louis Ezell, and T. J. and Maxine Martin; and special aunt Ruby Ezell.
Blake will be missed everyday by his father and mother Michael Shawn Ezell and Kelli Lea Martin Ezell, brother Ryan Austin Ezell of Gilbert; his grandparents Elaine Parker of Gilbert, Mark and Renee Ezell of Gilbert, Gary and Kathy Martin of Gilbert; great grandmother Christine Ezell of Gilbert; aunts: Joni Fontenot and husband Jody of Paradise, TX, Brooke Slaughter and husband Michael of Winnsboro and Robin May Thomas of Gilbert; special brothers: Raley Hendry, Tanner Hendry, and Tyler Ezell; special sisters: Ali Williams Hebert and Randi Gwin.
Pallbearers will be Antjuan Ellis, Hunter Jones, Logan LaCombe, Ryan Lee, DeLarrius Mathis, Justin Ridley and Josh Thigpen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kaden Armstrong, Robby Dearing, Tyler Ezell, Garrett Fontenot, Chas Gravelle, Taylor Gilley, Raley Hendry, Tanner Hendry, Michael Moroni, John Robbins, Dakota Stephens and Kyle Sullivan.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in Calvary Baptist Church, Gilbert, Rev. Bobby Ensminger and Rev. Bubba Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 9 pm Monday, June 3, 2019, at the church.
Those who knew Blake, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
