Obituary

Byron Stevens was born on July 17, 1946 in Natchez, MS. AT the age of 74, on October 10, 2020 he went to his eternal home.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his cherished wife of 38 years, Wilma Stevens; a daughter Debra and Paul Gravelle of Winnsboro, LA; a son Mark and Jennifer Stevens of St. Louis, MO; 4 grandchildren Chas Gravelle of Houston, TX, Mary Beth and John Reech of Fort Polk, LA, Bella and Anastasia Stevens of St. Louis, MO; one great-grandson Thomas Reech of Fort Polk, LA; Mother Louise Stevens of Natchez, MS; two sisters Nancy S. Loomis of Port Allen, LA and Karen McRevy of Orange Beach, AL; step-children Beverly, Larry, Gary Gillespie and spouses; ten step-grandchildren; nineteen step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Byron Stevens; brother George Rufus Stevens and stepson James Gillespie.
Mr. Stevens is a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Southern Towing as a River Boat Pilot. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling the country with Wilma, and watching his grandchildren's sporting and other activities and was known by them and many others as "Papa Bear".
