As a nurse she showed loving care to official and unofficial patients and made each of them feel as if they were her only priority in the world. As the wife of a farmer, her love and care were shown in the way she so carefully packed our lunches or offered encouragement after a tough day. Even when that lunch was a sandwich, there was always a little something extra on them (like her delicious homemade sweet pickles) to make them special. Donnie, Dustin, and the rest of her family meant the world to her, and she cared for them with her whole being.Boy could she cook! She loved to cook for her family, friends, or anyone in need. Her spaghetti accompanied by 'pear salads' made with her canned pears were unmatched and don't get me started on her deviled eggs, roast, or cheesy spaghetti! I will say, there was this one time that she tried to replicate Memaw's homemade ice cream and, well no one is perfect! But we laughed! Oh the memories. And her driving skills!!! Oh her driving 'skills' Let's just say all of the police officers knew her by name.As a mother, she loved deeply, cared without measure, nurtured with all her heart, and protected perhaps even a bit too much at times. Her Dustin meant the world to her. As a daughter of Christ, she cared for visiting missionaries and evangelists, made our pastors feel special by cooking for them and giving them gifts, cleaned around the church, and mothered so many in the church and community by feeding them, clothing them, furnishing their homes, passing them cash, or nursing them back to health. Many can personally recount numerous occasions where she would just show up at homes with name-brand clothes for the kids, a home-cooked meal, or something that could be used around the house. It was never asked, she just gave from her enormous heart. I reckon that if the giving of Aunt Caroline were to be cataloged in books, it would take a very large volume indeed. Now that she has gone to her eternal reward. I fully believe that Jesus is now saying to our beloved Aunt Caronline, 'I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'Online condolences may be made at www.dennardfirstnational.com.
