Funeral service for Lena "Cissy" McMurray, 73, will be held 10 am Monday, November 18, 2024, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Chase Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 7 pm at the funeral home.

Cissy was born May 18, 1951, in Portsmouth, VA, and passed from this life on November 14, 2024, at her residence in Gilbert.

Cissy was beloved wife of 39 years. She enjoyed cooking, antiquing, and gardening. Those that knew her know she was a kind and giving woman. She got her greatest joy from spending time with family and watching her grandkids grow. There was nothing like sitting with Cissy in the kitchen, drinking coffee. She touched the life of many and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hubert Dempsey and Linda Perry; two brothers: James Perry and Ray Perry; special friend Mary Gill and goddaughter, Myra Gill.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Danny McMurray of Gilbert; her children: Daniel McMurray and wife Payton of Winnsboro, Colby LaBlanc of Winnsboro, Robbin Humphreys of Wisner, Stacy Humphreys and wife Amy of Winnsboro; grandchildren: Gage Humphreys, Heath McMurray, Weston McMurray, Cornelia Rose McMurray, Paxton McMurray, Riley Beaube, and Gabby Emsfinger; sister: Cecilia Jones; nephews: Hank Jones and Byron McDougle; nieces: Jamie Talbert and Holley Wiggins; special friends Gene and Marilyn Wilson; a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bailey, Todd Bailey, Gerald McMurray, Kevin McMurray, and Gene Wilson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Stokley.
