Funeral services for Daniel Joseph Landry, 81, of Wisner, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at South Central Baptist Church in Wisner with Rev. Dennis Fontenot officiating. Visitation starts at 10 a.m., with interment following the service at South Central Cemetery, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Daniel, a painter foreman, was born to the union of the late Percy Joseph Landry and the late Anna Mae Fremin Landry July 22, 1942, and passed from this life February 8, 2024, at Willis Knighton Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport.
Daniel Joseph Landry was known by many names, his favorite was being called Child of God. Some called him Zeke, some Uncle Danny, but his pride and joy called him Papa. Zeke loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart and made sure to show that love to those around him. He and his wife of 51 years built a life full of adventure and laughter that will last for generations. His family and friends meant the world to him. Whether it be Saints, LSU football or a good fish fry he always looked forward to making people smile and have a good time. He was an original who lived Gods promise, full of loyalty and faith. To be loved by Zeke was a true treasure.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; son Caffy Landry; god-child Gina Hebert Blanchard; and mother-in-law Ruby Mae Hill. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Rushing Landry; daughter Michele Anderson; sons Daniel Landry and wife Kristen, Cammie Landry and wife Sarah, grandchildren Noah, Adilynn, Eli, Ella and Caroline, sister Barbara Hebert, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Todd Braud, Kevin Bonvillain, Ronnie Graham, Joe Hemphill, Eli Landry, and Noah Landry.
