Funeral services for Dennis R. Johnson, 76, of Crowville, will be held 10 am Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Crockett Point Baptist Church with Rev. Richie Kelly, Rev. Casey Johnson, and Rev. Russell Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Crockett Point Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the church.

Dennis was born August 14, 1949, in Crowville to the late Wesley Melton Johnson and the late Altha Alma Arnold Johnson Wiggins and passed away October 2, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

Dennis proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran and spent his life working hard and helping others. He was a God-fearing man with a big heart and an even bigger personality; he never met a stranger and always had a joke ready. Through his work in bail bonds and vinyl siding, he made countless connections and friendships. He will be remembered for his faith, humor, generosity, and unforgettable spirit. His legacy of faith, service, hard work, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Altha Wiggins; father, Wesley Johnson; his brothers: JC Johnson, Charlie Johnson; his sisters: Jimmie Sullivan and Jeanette Simmons.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Jannie Johnson; his children: Tracy Hatton, Stacy Wiley and husband Freddy, and Casey Johnson and wife Dee Dee; his grandchildren: Kandace Wiley, Chris Wiley and wife Caitlin, Zac Hatton and wife Bailey, Hunter Johnson and wife Mariah, Grace Mount and husband Whit, Haley Wiley and fiancé Devon, Abby Johnson, Amanda Hatton, and Emma Johnson; 13 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Zac Hatton, Hunter Johnson, Chris Wiley, Freddy Wiley, Daniel Ebey, and Charles Ray Johnson.
