A service to celebrate the life of Don Allen Kemp will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Winnsboro, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home, with Kevin Bates, Joshua Webb, and Marion Collier officiating. Don will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on March 17, 1945, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Marvin and Sadie Kemp, Don grew up in Baskin, Louisiana, alongside his brothers, Randall Kemp and Steven Lane Kemp, Sr., all of whom preceded him in death.

Don's life was marked by dedication and service. After proudly serving in the United States Navy, he embarked on a distinguished 32-year career in law enforcement. Beginning with the Monroe Police Department in 1969, his journey took him to the Houston Police Department, Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office, and the Louisiana State Police. He concluded his career with 15 years at the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office in Sarasota, Florida, where his colleagues remember him as a mentor and steadfast friend.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56years, Brenda Ellerman Kemp; his children: Mark Kemp and Steven Kemp of Winnsboro, Louisiana, and Rebecca Webb and her husband Joshua of Tyler, Texas. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kameron Brown and wife Mariana, Peyton Kemp, Logan Kemp, Cooper Kemp, Jace Beach, Willow Jordan, Sarah Beth Webb, Caleb Webb, Rachel Webb, and Jacob Webb; and his great-grandson, Koby Brown, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Don will remember he was fiercely loyal to his family, whom he loved dearly, especially his wife, Brenda, who stood faithfully by his side throughout their marriage. A proud veteran, he held great admiration and respect for those who served their country. His admiration for fellow veterans was evident, often sharing stories and fostering a sense of camaraderie among those who served. Above all, Don was an unashamed child of God, expressing his faith openly and sharing it with others whenever possible.

Serving as pallbearers are Jay Ellerman, Jeff Ellerman, Jerry Ellerman, Brian Evans, Randy Collins, Caleb Webb, Elliot Guidroz, and Scott Cupit. Honorary pallbearers include Johnnie Brown, John Ellerman, and Jacob Webb.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Don's memory.

Don's enduring spirit, love, and faith will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him.
