Donald Roy McManus

Final services for Donald McManus will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Gilbert on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service, with interment following at Oakley Cemetery in Gilbert, under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.

Donald was born July 14, 1953, to the union of Gay and Roy McManus and passed away October 5, 2026, at Plantation Oaks in Wisner at the age of 73.

Donald was best known for his gift of gab and was always ready to gather with family and friends and put his own spin on a tale. Some of his favorite times were spent riding his motorcycle on long trips to the Smokies or joining a group of friends for a Civil War reenactment.

Donald faithfully served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church and loved gathering with his church friends to pick his guitar and sing. It was recently shared by one of those friends that Donald was instrumental in leading many souls to Christ through his powerful testimony—a legacy that will live on far beyond his years here on earth.

Gone is the brain injury. Gone is the crippling Alzheimer’s. Gone is the suffering. In its place is healing, peace, and a sweet reunion with his parents and the sister he so dearly loved.

Donald was preceded in death by his loving parents, Gay and Roy McManus, and his sister, Judy McManus.

Left to always hold his memory close are his daughter, Callie McManus; his grandsons, John David and Conner Malta of Gilbert; and two special cousins, Sandra Parker of Winnsboro and Susan Britt of Gilbert.

Serving as pallbearers will be the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers are Gary Thomas, Earl Thomas, Chuck Foy, Eddie Quimby, Gary Thomas Jr., and Jerry Bud Arnold.
