Funeral services for Donald Thornton, 68, of Winnsboro, LA will be 2 PM Friday, October 24, 2025, at New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Basco officiating, interment to follow in New Zion Church Cemetery, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the church.

Donald, a member of New Zion Baptist Church and lifelong Oil Field man was born May 20, 1957, in Crowley, LA and passed away October 22, 2025, in Winnsboro, LA. He enjoyed riding Motorcycles and going to the lake, but he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Mickey Thornton, his wife Gaydene Thornton, a daughter Amie Thornton, and a grandson Caleb Mincin.

He is survived by a son Jeffery Thornton and his wife Mandi; two daughters Jessalyn Mincin and husband Dave, and Jakki Thompson; grandchildren Adam Thornton, Lexi Thornton, Carson Mincin, Claire Mincin, Grant Thompson, and Lucy Thompson; great granddaughters Adaline Linder and Olivia Thornton; brother Ronald Thornton; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Ashley, Gerald Ashley, Ray Groceman, Tom Taylor, and Darrell Waller.

Honorary Pallbearers are John McCarthy and Paul Stephenson.
