Private graveside services for Dorothy Lee Sturdivant, 89, of Swampers, were held Saturday May 2, 2020, in Harris Cemetery with Rev. Kelly Clark, Rev. Scott Fletcher and Rev. Terry Poland, under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born December 31, 1930 to the union of John Fraim Davis, Sr. and Josephine Tyler Davis and passed from this life on April 30, 2020, at her residence in Swampers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sons: John and Donnie Sturdivant; great grandson, Curtis John Martin; sisters: Inez Sanderson, Helen Strickland, and Bobbie Joe Walker; and brother Charles "Peachy" Davis.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Lannie Sturdivant of Swampers; son A-Boy Sturdivant of Swampers; five grandchildren: Terrill Sturdivant of Crowville, Lydia Dejong of Texas, Karinza Johnson and husband Bud of California, Crissy Rawls and husband Clif of Winnsboro and April Martin and husband Brad of Arkansas; brother J. F. Davis of Winnsboro; sister Bonita Duncan of Flordia; special niece Sissy Holloway; sister-in-law Charlene Poland; special granddaughter Gayle Fillingame; 11 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Bordelon, John Duncan, Adam Fussell, Terry Hickingbotton, Bayler Rawls, Clif Rawls and Pedro Weems.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie and Linda Busby, Margie Scott, Terrill Sturdivant and Clyde and Wanda Weems.
