Funeral services for Dorothy Nell Wiggins, 90, of Crowville, will be 2 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Crowville with Rev. Wade Coker and Rev. Scott Fletcher officiating.  Interment will follow in Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12 pm until 2 pm at the church.

Dorothy was born April 6, 1935 to the union of the late V. W. Pierce and the late Mary Arnold Pierce and passed from this life on September 20, 2025, at her residence with her family by her side.

Dorothy was a ward clerk at Jackson Baptist Hospital; this was one of her first jobs, later on she work at Franklin Medical Center.  She was a seamstress and loved to sew just as her mother did.  But her favorite job other than being a mother was being a caregiver; she loved being able to help others.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Willie Vondale Ainsworth and Mark Wiggins; son, Dale Ainsworth;  grandsons, Tyler Warbington and Jeffery "Bubba" Hitt; brothers: George Pierce and J. W. Pierce; sisters: Margie Bond, Johnnie V. Pierce, Jeanette Leslie, and Dianne McMurry.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Wanda Ashley and husband Tommy, John Ainsworth, and Leann Hickman and husband Keith; seven grandchildren: Jessica Pierson and husband Michael, Travis Ashley and wife Christy, Brandi Ashley Hitt, Ashleigh Ainsworth, Krystyn Warbington, Haley Parks and Jacob Parks; four great grandchildren: Avery Sears, Ella Sears, Holden Erwin, and Montana Jade Walker.  She is also survived by sister-in-law Sandra Pierce; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Travis Ashley, John Bird, Jimmy McDonald, Jacob Parks, Scott Peters, and Malcolm Welch.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Berkemeyer and Jason Pierce.
