Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Emilie "Becky" Fortenberry, 83, of Winnsboro, LA will be 10 AM Monday, August 11, 2025, at New Zion Baptist Church Winnsboro, LA with Rev Tommy Basco and Bro. Eric Andrews with interment to follow in New Zion Cemetery, visitation will be from 5- 8 PM Sunday August 10, 2025, all under the Direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.

Mrs. Becky was born October 7, 1941, in Baskin, LA, the youngest daughter of the late Robert Emmett Crawford and the late Ella B Crawford. A lifelong resident of Franklin Parish, she spent many years working as a certified Nursing Assistant and Private Sitter. Her calling was always to care for others in their time of need; However, her greatest joy was spending time with family. She viewed the family she built as her greatest achievement; She was so very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Charles Edward Fortenberry, grandson Colby Joe Fortenberry, and sisters Ann Johnson and Eddis Guillot

Those left to cherish her memories include, daughter, Lamona Bertolino and husband Richard of Pollock, LA; son Daryl Shawn Fortenbery  and wife Joi of Delhi, LA; sister Joan Gilbteath of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Amanda Walker and husband Todd of West, Monroe, LA, Ethan Bertolino of Pollock, LA, Emily Fortenberry and Jacob Fortenberry both of Delhi, LA and Katy Fortenberry of Panama City Beach, FL; great grandchildren, Payton Hukill and fiancé Jarrett of Lake Charles, LA, Ashton Walker of West Monroe, LA, Lori Bertolino and Tristan Bertolino both of Pollock, LA, Falicitie Fortenberry of Delhi, LA, Kaylen Swoveland of Vidalia, LA, and Scarlett Claire Calloway of Panama City Beach, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, Cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Bertolino, Jacob Fortenberry, Scott Fortenberry, Brandon Guillot, Stanley Johnson, Jarrett Kennedy and Todd Walker.

Honorary pallbearers are Skipper Guillot and Tony Stephenson.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the entire staff of Franklin Medical Center for the care and compassion they showed Emilie and our family during this difficult time.

John 16:22, So with you, now is you time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
