BRANDON - Ernestine "Ernie" Hollingshead Bradley passed away on January 7, 2021, at the age of 75. Ernie was born on May 18, 1945, to Mack and Lula Mae Hollingshead. She was the younger sister of Mackie and Jane, and big sister to Mack Jr. - Ernie was the last surviving of her brother and sisters.
Ernie was born in Butler, Alabama, and raised in Waynesboro, MS. A member of the Mississippi Artists Guild, Ernie was a talented artist and decorator until a debilitating stroke left her partially paralyzed. Ernie was a unique individual known for her sharp wit, whimsical sense of self, love of rocks and jewels, and eerily spot-on intuition. She was a free spirit who enjoyed spending time watching sunsets, fishing and going to the Mardi Gras and the Mals St. Paddys Day Parade with her family and friends. Above all, she valued a good bargain and took pride in decorating her house for all occasions for her loved ones.
Ernie is proceeded in death by her devoted husband, Larry. Ernie and Larry would have been married fifty years when Larry passed away on November 26, 2016. Ernie is survived by her daughters, Heather Bradley of Brandon, and Tena Andrea Bradley Nalker, and her husband, Daniel Nalker, of the Ansbach community in Bavaria, Germany; brother-in-law Charles McDonald of Houma, Louisiana and her nieces and nephews.
With dignity and respect, Ernie spent the last two years of her life living under the compassionate care of her daughter, Heather. She maintained her wicked sense of humor and whimsy until the very end. Ernie will be buried beside Larry in a private graveside service at Harris Cemetery in Crowville,Louisiana under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home Ernie's family will hold a memorial service for family and friends at a later date.
