Gail Y. "Yvonne" Blount

Funeral services for Gail Y. “Yvonne” Blount, 70, of Winnsboro, will be held 2 pm Friday, August 21, 2026, at First Baptist Church – Wisner with Rev. Garrison Griffith and Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment will follow in Coax Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the church.

Yvonne was born October 3, 1955, in Rayville to the union of the late Paul Daniel Hatfield and the late Ruthie Mae Williamson Hatfield and passed from this life on August 18, 2026, at the Carpenter House in Shreveport with her family at her side.

Yvonne was a member of First Baptist Church, Wisner, where she would volunteer in the kitchen; she was a member of the garden club. She enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, working in her flower beds and maintaining her yard which she kept in immaculate condition. But her family was of the utmost important to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bobby L. Blount, and one brother, Weldon Hatfield.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two children: James D. Blount of Winnsboro, and Rachel D. Blount (Scotty) of Winnsboro; one granddaughter, Cheyenne L. Blount (Kayden) of Lafayette; two brothers: Paul Hatfield and Steve Hatfield both of Winnsboro; two sisters: Annette Ghere (Don) of Prairieville, and Cathy Taylor of Winnsboro; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Flint Bryan, Bart Ghere, Conner Ghere, James Hatfield, Paul Hatfield and Jesse Young.

Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Ghere, and Tyler Roberts.
