Private family Graveside services for LaVerne Bennett, 88, of Winnsboro, LA with Visitation Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, from 5-7 pm at Dennard First National Funeral Home.
LaVerne was born December 24, 1934, in Winnsboro to the union of the late Grover C. Easterling and the late Laura Sena Temple Easterling and passed from this life on September 26, 2023, at Plantation Manor Nursing Center in Winnsboro.
LaVerne was a member of Fort Necessity Pentecostal Church. She worked many years as a certified nursing assistant. LaVerne enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, cooking, tending to her flowers and visiting with friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis H. Morgan; siblings: Earl K. Easterling, Gary L. Easterling, Edward Easterling, Allen J. Easterling, Betty Boudreaux, Millie Cauley and Billy Wayne Easterling.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her three daughters: Polly M. Peppers, Wanda Morgan, and Donna Bennett; one sister Fannie Elizabeth "Sis" Easterling; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her caregiver, Velinda Pleasant.
