Funeral services for Gus Davis, 69, of Monroe will be 2 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home with Father Mike Thang'wa, Rev. Jason Jordan, and Pastor Luke Way officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Cemetery, Crowville. Visitation will be 11 AM until time of service at the funeral home.Gus was born January 30, 1954, in Bogalusa to the union of the late John Peter Davis and the late Juanita Rose Wolf Davis and passed from this life on October 22, 2023, at his residence in Monroe.Gus was a successful self-employed businessman for many years. He was a family man, who loved all his family; but, his greatest love was his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music, he always wanted to play the guitar but never learned how, but his oldest grandson was self taught and would come play for him.He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Joey Davis.Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years Wanda Jordan Davis of Monroe; his four children: Gus James Davis, Jr. (Kristy) of Monroe, Mitch Davis (Amber) of Little Rock, MS, April Burton (Josh) of Philadelphia, MS, Michelle Way (Luke) of Conehatta, MS; 12 grandchildren: Logan Anthony Davis, Kaleb Joshua Davis, Cameron Gage Davis, Madison Nicole Davis, Lauren Gully, Anna Belk (Dylan), Alexia Stribling, Shot Stribling, Ava Way, Oliva Way, Elliot Davis and Payton Harrell; three great grandchildren: Jackson, Emmett, and Asher; one sister, Annie Davis Mitchell; sister-in-law, Elaine Davis; nieces: Michelle, Dawn, Susie, Jo Ann, Lena and Judy; a host of other relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be Gus Davis, Jr., Mitch Davis, Kevin Rogers, Josh Burton, Tim Ulmer, Jordan Ulmer, Andy Jordan, and Tyler Nichols.Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Davis, Kaleb Davis, Cameron Davis, and Shot Stribling.Online condolences may be made at www.dennardfirstnational.com .
