A Homegoing Celebration for Harles Andrew Hodge, 95, of Jackson, Mississippi, will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 8, at The First Pentecostal Church of Jackson.Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of the service.Internment will follow atLakewood South Cemetery.; all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro.'Uncle Harles', as he was affectionately known by so many, was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.He was a great influence on three generations to be everything they could be. He retired after twenty-five years of a stellar career with the Engineering Department of the City of Jackson, where he was greatly honored and respected by all his coworkers. Bro. Hodge was a charter member of The First Pentecostal Church of Jackson, where he served on the board of trustees, and many other capacities over the course of several decades. The most important thing in his life was serving God, and then encouraging his children and grandchildren to do the same... He was most effective in seeing this through!!H.A. Hodge was born to the union of the late William and Ethel Hodge in Gulfport, Mississippi, on September 26, 1926, and passed from this life into his eternal home surrounded by family in Winnsboro, Louisiana, on Sunday morning, July 3, 2022.Those who made this journey before him are his parents; his brother, William Earl Hodge;sisters, Ardell 'Doll' Jordan, Peggy Sullivan, and Bertha Horne;and granddaughter, Lakresha 'Sissy' Gilbert.Those who remain to cherish his memory include his wife of seventy-five years, Mary Alice Spell Hodge;children, Louise Maughon (Glenn), Shirley Bates (George), David Hodge (Pam), and Nila Sanders;grandchildren, DaRon Maughon (Tina), Landy Maughon (Stephanie), Tonya Marin (Elkin), Kevin Bates (Kayla), Kimberly Burns (Jerry), Jason Bates (Leslie), Shayla Edwards (Zach), Edith Laird (Colby), Ashley Paige, Jeremy Hodge (Christina), and Jeffrey Hodge;brother, James Ernest 'Sonny' Hodge;twenty-three great grandchildren;three great, great grandchildren;a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many, many friends.
