Funeral services for Harold "Coon" Denson Kirkpatrick, Jr., 80, of St. Joseph, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro, with Rev. Ricky Jones and Norma Ray officiating, with interment following at Wesley Cemetery, in St. Joseph; visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024; all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro.
Coon was born August 19, 1943, in St. Joseph, and passed from this life January 29, 2024, in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe, LA.
Coon, a Marine and a Vietnam Veteran, was a graduate of Davidson High School; he was a multi-talented tradesman who could do almost anything; Coon's favorite holiday was the Fourth of July; and he had a huge zest for life, and he played as hard as he worked. He loved his family and his friends as he considered them family as well.
Coon is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Mysta Kirkpatrick; his sons: Michael (Lisa) Kirkpatrick and Gabe (Summer) Kirkpatrick; his grandchildren: Cabe (Julie) Kirkpatrick, Kayla (Brandon) Faust, Mackenzie (Sawyer) Young, Ella Brooke Kirkpatrick, and Bailey Michael Kirkpatrick; one great-grandchild on the way; sister Pasty Ann Bean; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers are John Black, Rick Foster, John Michael Goodwin, Britt Keahey, Allen Lansing, and Lawrence Perritt.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Rogers, Alphonse Coco, Mike Goodwin, and Tim Bradley.
