Funeral services for J.D. Pippins, 83, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Dennard First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Benton Moore officiating; internment to follow in Oakley Cemetery in Gilbert, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
J.D. was born February 5, 1938 in Franklin Parish to the late Monroe Pippins and the late Nervie McKenzie Pippins and passed from this life on April 29, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Pippins, brother J.L. Pippins, daughter Janet Pippins Ferrington, and loving wife of 64 years Amarylles Maxine Pippins.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons Don Pippins and wife Anita of Cincinnati, OH; David Pippins and wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL; and Jason Pippins and wife Patrice of Baton Rouge, LA; his 13 grandchildren, Terrill Wells and wife Pam of Denham Springs, LA; Michael Wells of Jigger, LA; Christina Pippins of Rayville, LA; Elizabeth Dewberry and husband Nick of Spring Hill, TN; Zachery Pippins and wife Hannah of Spring Hill, TN; Nick, Alex, and Ben Pippins of Jacksonville, FL; Abigail Pippins of Jacksonville, FL and Karleigh Jones and husband Tyler of Monroe, LA; Jayce, Emma and Haley McKay of Baton Rouge, LA; 11 great-grandchildren, Cliff, Caden, Conner and Hannah Wells of Denham Springs, LA; Cody and Hunter Wells of Jigger, LA; Randal and Camryn Montgomery of Rayville, LA; Ava and Samuel Dewberry of Spring Hill, TN; Noah Pippins of Spring Hill, TN; two sisters, Margarite Richardson and Barbara West of Winnsboro, LA; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers are several of J.D.s grandsons and great-grandsons.
