J W Brown

Services for J W Brown, 86, of Winnsboro, LA, will be held at a later date under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.

J W was born April 1, 1940, in Winnsboro to the late Enos Brown and the late Lucy Johnson Brown and was in Wisner, when he stepped into Paradise on October 19, 2026, coming face to face with his Savior and was reunited with a host of family and friends who preceded him in going Home.

J W was a joyful member of Cowboy Church where he was baptized in 2024 after accepting the Lord as his savior. J W was a millwright by trade. A man of few words, he always preferred being in the country to being in the city, he enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jesse Ray Brown, and his sister, Barbara Brown.

He is survived by his four children: Bobbi Brown (Shayne Smith), Mary Brown, Julia Bristow, and Jason Brown (Kerri); four grandchildren: Brittany Dasher (Josh), Amanda Glasscock, Gavin Bristow, and Tierney Gonzalez (Jacob); seven great grandchildren: Addison, Ivy Grace, Gemma, Julian, Trevor, Josephine, and Oliver; and niece, Joy Bowling; a host of extended family and friends.
