Graveside services for Jerry Day, 77, of Baskin will be 10 am Wednesday January 31, 2024, in Reagan Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.
Jerry was born July 9, 1946, in Winnsboro to the union of the late Jessie Roy Day and the late Myrtle Marie Blackmon Day and passed from this life on January 29, 2024, at Plantation Manor Nursing Center in Winnsboro.
Jerry was a farmer, an avid hunter especially coon hunting. His greatest joy was his family that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Billy Day; five sisters: Margie Day Payne, Christine Fife, Katherine Watson, Pauline Watson, and Elizabeth Foy.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his best friend and mother of his children, Gloria Nell Wright of Winnsboro; one son, Johnny Day and wife Melanie of Baskin; one daughter, Sandra Punchard and husband Earl of Baskin; four grandchildren: Amanda Punchard, Wade Punchard and wife Carley, Jessica Box and husband Cameron Holley, and Hailey Day; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; canine companion Blue; a host of other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Box, Weston Cunningham, Mark Day, Mike Day, Cameron Holley, Earl Punchard and Wade Punchard.
