Funeral services for Johnny M. Moore, 79, of Gilbert will be 11 am Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Apostolic Faith Chapel, Gilbert, with Rev. James Harris, Rev. Clay Nichols and Kevin Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in Oakley Cemetery, Gilbert, under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the church.
Johnny was born March 5, 1944, in Oak Grove to the union of the late John Earl Moore and the late Elma Ramshur Moore and passed from this life on June 4, 2023, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
Johnny was a member of Apostolic Faith Chapel. He was employed by Louisiana Power and Light for 17 years; A & R Pipeline for 10 years and the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office for 30 years. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and horses; loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frankie Pilcher; and stepson Jason Tolar.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Frankie Moore of Gilbert; son, John W. Moore and wife Amanda of Winnsboro; daughter, Michelle Campbell and husband Roland of Winnsboro; step daughter Kristen Coleman and husband Brad of Downsville; fur baby Scruffy; brother by choice, Bubba Ferguson and wife Kathy of Wisner; brother in law, Boots Pilcher; grandchildren: Alyssa Brown and husband Jake, Chelsey Walley and husband Adam, Ashley McFarland and husband Tyler, Hagen Fleming and husband Chris, Matt Coleman and wife Alyania, Hannah Coleman and Peyton Coleman; great grandchildren: Carson Halley, John Robert Brown, Luke Brown, Oliver McFarland, Amelia McFarland, and Kimber Walley; several nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Trey Carroll, Matt Coleman, Peyton Coleman, Jeff Collins, Dewey Ferguson, Chris Hawthorne, and Steven Reeves.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff Kevin Cobb, Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office Employees, Chad Lee, and Lathan Adkins.
