Funeral services for John "Bubba" R. Day, Jr. 51, of Winnsboro will be 11 am Friday, January 3, 2025, at Bayou Macon Baptist Church with Rev, Waylon Tibbs officiating. Interment will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 9 pm Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Bayou Macon Baptist Church.

Bubba was born on March 3, 1973, in Delhi to the union of the late John R. Day, Sr. and the late Inez Barfield Day and passed from this life on December 29, 2024, at his home in Winnsboro.

Bubba was a member and deacon at Bayou Macon Baptist Church. He worked as a highway foreman with the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Bubba loved playing the guitar, taking road trips, going camping with his family, and making everyone laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years Charity Purvis Day of Winnsboro; two daughters: Camryn Grace Day and Madisyn Paige Day both of Winnsboro; a host of other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Ben Purvis, Cody Purvis, Colton Purvis, Pat Jackson, Danny Hendry, and Jay Neal.

Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Babb, Lance Bickham, Tyler Bickham, Nathaniel Jones, Joseph Lachney, Brett McMurray, Decatur McMurray, and DOTD Sign Crew.
