Funeral services for Joyce Faye Bixler Brower, 79, of Gilbert will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, with Rev. Zachary Wells officiating, in the Chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro, with interment following in Oakley Cemetery in Gilbert; visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.Joyce enjoyed cooking, gardening, taking trips with her husband, and spending time with her family most of all. Her spirit was kind, nurturing, and loving to all. She was just so special. She never missed the opportunity to remind us how much she loved us all.Joyce was born in Catron, MO, October 31, 1944, to the union of the late Lucille Marie McCrady Bixler and the late William Glenn Bixler, and passed from this life July 24, 2024, at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA, surrounded by her family after a devastating battle with leukemia. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Carroll Wayne Weaks; and her brothers Billy Bixler and Ronnie Bixler.She is survived by her husband Wayne Brower of Jigger; children: Rhonda Campbell of Winnsboro; Val Gilmore and husband David of Extension, Len Weaks and wife Vanessa of Winnsboro, and a special sister-in-law Sarah Bixler of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Daniel Hendry and wife Constance of Jena, Magan Courtney of Winnsboro, Zachary Barfield of Jigger, Cassie Boughton and husband Chris of Mangham, William Chappell and wife Ariel of Winnsboro, Seth Barfield of Wisner, Gavin Weaks and fianc Katelyn Malone of Mangham, and Lexi Weaks of Winnsboro; thirteen (13) great grandchildren; a host of special nieces and nephews; a dear lifetime friend Jackie Sullenger; and a host of other family and friends.Pallbearers are Dillon Barfield, Josh Barfield, Devin Caldwell, Art Kenny, Clay Kenny, Shane Knox, Ryan Miller, and Trevor Roberts.Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Daniel Hendry, Zachary Barfield, Will Chappell, Seth Barfield, and Gavin Weaks.Online condolences may be made at www.dennardfirstnational.com .
