Graveside services for Juanita McMurray, 76, of Winnsboro will be held 2 pm Tuesday January 28, 2025, at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Prentis Gandy officiating under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 – 1 pm January 28, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church.

Juanita was born March 9, 1948, in Franklin Parish to the union of the late Phil Taylor and the late Ruby Lee Olivo Taylor and passed from this life on January 23, 2025, at her residence in Winnsboro surrounded by her family.

Juanita was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was employed as a typist at the Franklin Sun for 18 years and as clerk for the Department of Health Drug Division for 18 years. She was a cherished matriarch of Baskin. She was known for her unwavering love, infectious laughter and her big heart. She dedicated her life to her family and friends always providing a warm embrace and a listening ear. Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she committed her life to helping others. She was deeply passionate about spending time with family and always had a smile on her face. If there was a problem she had the answer to fix it. When things got tough she got tougher. Her home was a haven of hospitality, where countless meals and memories were shared. To know her was to love her because, that was the spirit she carried.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Fannie Miller; and one brother, Billy Ray "Bilbo" Taylor.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years, Delmas F. McMurray, Sr.; two sons: Delmus McMurray, Jr. and wife Sandra and Ronald Ray McMurray; two brothers: Phil Taylor, Jr., Robert Taylor and wife Marsha; one sister, Betty LaBorde; very special friend, Shelia Martin; six grandchildren: Patricia Mann and husband Dewayne, Julia McMurray, Kasandra McMurray, Cody McMurray and wife Kaila, Dustin McMurray, and Robert McMurray and wife DeSirae; 14 great grandchildren: Nathen, Landen, Bralyn, Destiny, Dalton, Jessie, Raley, Eli, Kiley, Aiden, Jaden, Laine, Bryson "Beaux", and Asher; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Bralyn McMurray, Cody McMurray, Dustin McMurray, Landen McMurray, Nathen McMurray, and Robert "Bobby" McMurray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aiden McMurray, Asher McMurray, Jaden McMurray, and Laine McMurray.
