Kathryn Kifer 'Sister' Foster was born on May 6,1947 to Nathan Odell and Marjorie Ruth Kifer. She passed away peacefully at Madison Parish Hospital on November 30, 2022 after a lengthy illness.She was a graduate of Newellton High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 2, at Newellton Legion Memorial Cemetery with visitation beginning at 2:00 and service to follow at 3:00. The service will be conducted by Rev. Tom McLaughlin and Bro. Thomas Patton.Kathy was a member of Maryland Baptist Church. She was known there as the 'Pied Piper', because of her love for children. She was employed by the Tensas Parish Sheriff's department, and was also a bailiff in the judicial system.She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Jennifer Ann Foster, and her brother Dan Allen Kifer.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Wayne Foster, her son Lindsay Wade Foster and his wife Kate; two granddaughters, Lindsay Katherine and Madison Ann, one brother, Nathan Odell 'Sonny' Kifer, Jr. (Helen Hester), one sister, Mary Lynn Kifer McLaughlin (Tom), one sister in law, Sheryl Lee Kifer, two brothers in law, Danny Ray Foster (Debbie), Robin Foster (Dona') and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbears will be her seven godsons.Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.Arrangements are being handled by Dennard'First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.Online condolences can be made at www.dennardfirstnational.com .
