Obituary

In the year 1933, L C Walley was born to the union of Elsie Ainsworth and Jesse James Walley on Friday April 14th. At the age of three his mother died during childbirth of her fourth newborn, W C Walley; leaving her husband and L Cs oldest sibling and only sister, Hollis Walley Dickerson and brother, J C Walley.

After graduating from Kilborne High School, L C Joined the US Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Juneau, Alaska in the Central Intelligence detail. After serving his country with an honorable discharge, he moved back to Kilborne, LA. In 1953, he and his brother and his brothers bride, Heather Elizabeth June Richardson Walley, moved to Winnsboro and opened an Esso gas station across from the Franklin Parish Courthouse. They later opened a second location on Front Street (Highway 15), and then the Lion Oil Distributorship. Years later they sold out and began farming and other business interests.

L C also drove a School Bus, Bus # 3, for the public school system for thirty (30) years, and carried many students to ball games and the LA State Fair.

During the Service Station years, he met and married Nell Moyers from Crowville. Together they had two children, Wade Walley, Sr., and Wyn Walley Billingsley (Carl).
