Funeral services for Lannie Sturdivant, 94, of Swampers, will be held 2 pm Sunday January 22, 2023 at Souled Out Ministries with Bro. Terry Poland, Bro. Scott Fletcher and Bro. Danny Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the funeral home.Mr. Sturdivant was born February 18, 1928 in Winnsboro to the union of the late Reece and Annie Sturdivant and passed from this life on January 20, 2023, just a month short of his 95th birthday at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.He was a US Navy veteran. He was also a very skilled carpenter, and he passed those skills on to his sons. Mr. Sturdivant attended Souled Out Ministries and New Hope Baptist Church.He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy Lee Sturdivant; sons: John Arnold, A-Boy and Donnie Ray Sturdivant; grandson, Curtis John Martin and sister, Nell Ramsey.Those left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren: Terrill Sturdivant of Crowville, Lydia Dejong of Texas, Karinza Johnson and husband Bud, of California, Crissy Rawls and husband Clif of Winnsboro and April Martin and husband Brad of Arkansas; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Charlene Poland of Swampers; special niece, Sissy Holloway and a host of other relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be John Duncan, Adam Fussell, Terry Hickingbottom, Paul McMurray, Dennis Poland, and Charles Ray Ramsey.Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Martin, Clif Rawls and great grandsons.Online condolences may be made at www.dennardfirstnational.com.
