Maebelle Lilly James passed from this world on Friday, July 18, 2025. She was a member of Chrystal Springs Chapel in Henreyetta, Oklahoma as well as a board member of Chrystal Springs Retirement Village where she lived the past 6 years. Maebelle loved her children and grandchildren to the fullest and beyond. She had a special place in her heart for Baskin and Winnsboro Louisiana as that is where her older sister, Allene, raised her and she called Allene's children her little sisters and brothers. Maebelle left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a prayer warrior. As a believer of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she spread love and kindness to all. She never met a stranger. You could always hear her coming as she had a song in her heart that she could not contain.
Maebelle was born October, 1, 1939 in Gilbert Louisiana to the late Jessie Monroe Lilly, Jr. and Tinie Segers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter- Vivian James, her son- Charles James, sisters- Allene Ferguson, Nancy Lilly, Abrzine Bardin, Emma Wynn, Bernice Lilly, Frances Lilly and brothers – WL Lilly, JM Lilly, Sydney Lilly, Emmitt Lilly, HP Lilly, Clifton Lilly and JT Lilly.
She is survived by her son – Michael James (Cathy), her daughters – Shelia Brown (John) and Nancy Borden (John), 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Michael James II, Jason James, Brian James, Amon Brown, Ethan Brown, Caleb Borden, Jeremy Hale, and Triston Haden.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday July 26, 2025, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Diane Reeder officiating. Interment will follow in Coax Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm Friday July 25, 2025, at the funeral home.
