Funeral services for Margaret Ruth Dosher will be held at the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church in Fort Necessity, Louisiana at 1:00 PM February 15, 2025, Reverends Bobby Ensminger & Hurby Hitt presiding. Visitation will at the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Interment will be at the Carraway Cemetery in Extension, Louisiana. All under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA.
Born May 29, 1929, Margaret Ruth was a life-long resident of Franklin Parish & the Boeuf Prairie community. She passed from this earth on February 13, 2025. A graduate of Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University, she taught home economics at Gilbert High School for 30 years until her retirement in 1987. She selflessly gave her time, talent & love to all she met. She was beloved by generations of students, teachers and the members of her community. After retirement she taught in the adult education program for Franklin Parish School Board. She was an active member of the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church, Quilt Club, Garden Club & served as seamstress & costumer for the Princess Little Theater. She was a devoted educator, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, neighbor & loyal servant of God's will.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Emmitt Burton Deen & William Rufus (Ruth) Deen, husband Chester Lacy Dosher, granddaughter Elizabeth London Dosher & sister-in-law Elizabeth Ann McMurray. Remaining to cherish her memory are daughter Linda Darlene Collard & husband Ed of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, son Chester Larry Dosher & wife Sharon of Tomball, Texas, granddaughter Margaret Ann Collard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, grandsons Matthew Ross Dosher & wife Julie of Rowlett, Texas, Nathan Richard Dosher of Tomball, Texas, Anthony James DeLanzo of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, great-grandson Ethan Pandya Dosher of Rowlett, Texas, brother-in-law Ernest Ross McMurray of Patterson, Louisiana, niece Tammy Kay Written & husband Carl of Patterson, Louisiana, her beloved companion & devoted caretaker of 30 years Tenna Spann of Fort Necessity, Louisiana & the untold number of lives she touched over her 95 years.
Serving as pallbearers are David Gilmore, Bobby Thornton, Terry Martin, Brandon Easterling, Michael Huffmaster & Curtis Hilbun. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Easterling, Gerald Gilmore, Jimbo Colvin, James Ernest Wooldridge, Michael Bryant & Greg Kincaid.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church, The United Methodist Children's Home of Louisiana or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
