Graveside services for Marvin Charles Appel, 88, of Winnsboro formerly of Newellton will be 1 pm Friday, January 23, 2026, in Legion Memorial Cemetery, Newellton, with Rev. Waylon Tibbs officiating under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Marvin was born August 27, 1937, in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Martin Smith Appel and the late Florence Gertrude Hammons and passed from this life on January 17, 2026, at Mary Anna Nursing Center in Wisner, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Doris Jane "Chick" Thornton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his three daughters: Kathy Brown and husband Joel, Donna Bolch and husband Keith, and Lisa Gaitan; five grandchildren: Brian Brown, Kacie Tapanila, Emily Hartung, Ashley Benitez, John Michael Gaitan; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
