Marvin Buxton

Celebration of life services for Marvin Buxton, 81, of Winnsboro, will be held 2 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Ogden Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 pm until time of service at the funeral home.

Marvin was born October 16, 1943, to the union of the late John Mac Buxton and the late Ruby Winters Buxton and passed from this life on June 12, 2026, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro.

Marvin was a mechanic by trade which he enjoyed; he liked spending his free time hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years Marilyn Buxton; his daughter, Lisa Johns and her husband Jesse; his son, Mitchell Buxton; two brothers: Keith Buxton and Andrew Buxton; four grandchildren: Taylor Haynes and her husband Kyle, Lindsey Buxton, Charles Phillips, Mackynzie Crawford and her husband Colin; six great grandchildren: Carson Phillips, Dakota Norris and his wife Madison, Landrie and Kyler Haynes, Kaelyn and Kynsli Smith, Kashton Crawford, and great-great grandchildren Carly and Adalyn Norris; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Calhoun, Mike Galloway, David McIntyre, Gerald McMurray, Scott McMurray, and Carson Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Haynes and Bitt McMurray.
