Funeral services for Millard Lawrence Osborn, 85, of Winnsboro, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Miller and Rev. James Lee Busby officiating; interment will follow at Ward Bend Cemetery; visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro.
Millard was a member of Temple Baptist Church for fifty-two (52) years, during which time he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher; he was a U.S. Army veteran, a prison guard at Angola State Penitentiary, and also served as Warden for Franklin Parish Detention Center. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved gardening and especially tomatoes and fruit trees.
Millard was born January 22, 1939, to the union of the late Maurine Welch Osborn and the late James Hodge Osborn, and peacefully passed from this life to his heavenly reward at his residence April 11, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
Millard is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three (63) years Barbara Ann Searcy Osborn; his parents; son Larry Osborn; and siblings: George Alvin Osborn, Jerry Clem Osborn, Carey Rapp Osborn, Nina Ann Curry, and Francis Elaine Dean.
Millard is survived by his daughter Carla Wollerson (Pete) and son David Osborn; brothers: James Osborn (Sue) and Jesse Osborn (Sherry); granddaughters: Kacie Walley (Brett) and Erica Fulford (Ryan); great-grandchildren: Baylen Walley, Bryson Fulford, Brynn Fulford, Ellie Walley and Bryggs Fulford; sisters-in-law: Bobbie Hindman, Darleen Wiggins, Beverly Lyle, Myrna Ward, Rena Searcy, and Anne Searcy; brother-in-law Elwyn Searcy (Cindy); many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Jamie Ezell, Allen Osborn, James Osborn, Kyle Osborn, Trey Osborn, and CJ Ward.
Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Temple Baptist Church.
