Funeral services for Mrs. Pat Whittington Smith, 78 of St. Joseph, LA will be 2 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church St. Joseph, with Rev. T. J. Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the church, interment to follow in Legion Memorial Park Cemetery Newellton, LA all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA.

Mrs. Pat was a member of First Baptist Church St. Joseph and retired after 32 years in law enforcement serving as assistant warden at Madison Parish and Riverbend Detention centers before serving as Warden of Tensas Detention Center. She loved her flowers and working in her flower beds as well as collecting antique furniture but being Pitter to her grandchildren and great grandson was one of her greatest joys; as well as spending time with family and friends at the lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clayton L. Whittington and Nannie Forman Whittington, brother, Dutchie Whittington, W. L. Whittington, Garland Whittington, and a sister Polly Wilkinson.

She is survived by the love of her life her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Richard "Dickey" Smith; a son, John Sage Vinson Smith and Kirsten; daughter Piper Lowry Smith and James; sister Rebecca Riggar; grand children Dempsey O'Donovan and Cian, Reed McMurry and Allie, Willow Smith, and Hazel Smith; great grandson Jack Dempsey Garrison; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Crigler, Brian Eppenitte, Mark Guy, Buddy Hendrix, Britt Keahey, and Jim Paxton.

Honorary pallbearers will be William McGraw and Bennie Stansell.
