Mrs. Polly Martin
Funeral services for Mrs. Polly Martin, 81, of Winnsboro, La., will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro, with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment to follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, La.
Mrs. Polly was born in Oak Grove, La, to the union of the late Louis Martin and the late Corinne Townsend Martin. She was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church, faithfully attending Ruth Cuny's Sunday school class and participating in the Women's Missionary Union.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Murry Martin, daughter Amelia Martin, sister Louise Armfield and husband Shorty; Carolyn Moss and husband Robert; brother in law Carol Lewis, along with special friends Aba Bardin, Belvie Keene and Carolyn Fenn.
Those left to cherish her memory are Amanda Moore and husband Johnny; Tammy Guimbellot and husband David, all of Winnsboro; stepson James Martin of Taos, NM; grandchildren Alyssa Brown and husband Jake; Kasey Robinson and husband Justin; Ashley McFarland and husband Tyler; John Anthony Guimbellot and wife Mallory; great children Carson Halley, John Robert Brown, Luke Brown, Claudia Robinson, Jude Robinson, Clara Robinson, Caroline Guimbellot, Carrigan Guimbellot, Oliver McFarland and Amelia McFarland; sisters Faye Barnes and husband Luther of Oak Grove; and Debra Lewis of Stanton, Tenn.; special daughter Dana Collins and husband Jeff of Winnsboro, and special granddaughters Hannah Dooley and husband Tyler of Sterlington and Laura Williamson and husband Adam of Winnsboro; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jake Brown, David Guimbellot, John Anthony Guimbellot, Tyler McFarland, Johnny Moore, Justin Robinson and Michael Slaughter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Nichols, Dr. Charles Reed, Jeremy Rollins and deacons of Temple Baptist Church.
Special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Combetta and staff, and the Plantation Manor family for the loving and compassionate care they gave to her and to us.
