Graveside services for Ralph W. Guthrie, 72, of St. Joseph will be 10 am Saturday October 18, 2025, in Legion Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Wilkins officiating under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro.  Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Friday October 17, 2025, at the funeral home.

Ralph was born June 29, 1953 to the late William Aly Guthrie, Sr. and the late Mary Alice Clements Guthrie and passed from this life on October 13, 2025, at his residence in St. Joseph.

Ralph was a lifelong resident of Tensas Parish and member of the Newellton Union Church.  He farmed Eddington Plantation alongside his family.  In 1987, he opened Guthrie Welding Service and retired in 2018.  Ralph was a hard worker who loved children, birds, flower, and all animals.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Parker Guthrie; daughter, Ellie Guthrie Lane; grandchildren: Aly Guthrie McCurley and husband Ty, Shane Lane, and Sara Lane; great grandson, Bowen McCurley; long time partner Gail Gray; brother, W. A. "Billy" Guthrie, Jr; and sister, Barbara Guthrie Allen.

Pallbearers will be Neal Brown, George Gray, Shane Lane, Ty McCurley, Bennett Rogers, and Michael Paul Strickland.
