Funeral services for Rickey Barton, 74, of Winnsboro, LA will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Dennard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Goodman and Rev. Danny Davis officiating, interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2025, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA

Rickey, a truckdriver and avid gardener enjoyed hunting and fishing and always had a story to tell whenever someone visited with him. He and Mrs. Barbara were founding members of the Fort Necessity Pentecostal Church and were proud to have been able to have bought the building and have it moved to where it is now. He was born July 21, 1950, in Gilbert, LA to the late Cecil and the late Katie Walters Barton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara Barton, brothers, Ira Barton, Bill Barton and Rex Barton, and a sister Cecile B. Netherland.

Rickey is survived by his wife Wendy Barton of Winnsboro, LA; daughters, Misty Ferrington and her husband Joey of Gilbert, LA, and Marissa N. Wilson of Winnsboro, LA; grandchildren, Kelsey Ferrington and Karley Ferrington of Gilbert, LA, and Treylin Wilson, Trystan Wilson, and Harmoni Martin all of Winnsboro, LA; brother, Roger Barton and his wife Juanita of Wisner, LA; sisters Darlynn Netherland of Delhi, LA, Pat Lachney and her husband Eddie of Wisner, LA, and Betty Armstrong and her husband Ed of Sicily Island, LA, special niece "Peanut" Diane Lachney of Wisner, LA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Glenn Barton, Mike Barton, Matt Bass, Gabe Braswell, Randy Braswell, and Ronnie Braswell.
