Ricky
Jones
Mar 10, 1953 — Mar 29, 2026
Winnsboro
The family and friends of Ricky Monroe Jones, 73, mourn the loss of a man whose life was defined by the steady strength of his character and the depth of his devotion to those he loved. Ricky passed from this life, leaving behind a legacy built on the quiet, honorable virtues of a provider who knew the true meaning of duty and heart.
A man of great presence and unwavering purpose, Ricky found his greatest satisfaction in the honest labor of his hands. He was a man who understood that a father's primary role is to stand as a pillar for his family, ensuring their needs were met and their lives were secure. Beyond his work, he felt most at home under the open sky, whether he was casting a line in the water or tracking game in the woods. These were the moments where he found peace, usually in the company of the few close friends he held dear and trusted implicitly.
In the final, most important chapter of his life, Ricky's focus shifted to the eternal. He walked closely with Jesus, finding in his faith the ultimate fulfillment and the promise of the life to come. His heart was firmly rooted in his family, who remain the living testament to his guidance and care.
Ricky is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Sue Jones, and his mother, Shirley Mayo Bailey. His legacy lives on through his children: his son, Jeremy Tinnerello and family of Jackson, MS; his son, Ricky Lyn Jones, wife Ashley, and their children Naomi, James, and William of Winnsboro, LA; his daughter, Mary Beth Erwin, husband Brent, and their children Autumn and Kylee of Winnsboro, LA; and his daughter, Kayla Punchard, and her sons Eyan and Noah of West Monroe, LA.
He has now been reunited with those who went before him, including his father, James Monroe Jones Jr.; his brothers, Danny Lyn and James Mark; and the multitude of cherished family and friends who preceded him in death.
Ricky Monroe Jones lived his years with conviction and hard work. He rests now in the presence of his Savior, having finished his race and kept the faith. He will be deeply missed and long remembered by those who knew the strength of his hand and the sincerity of his heart
