Funeral services for Robert Anthony "Tony" George, 60, of Gilbert will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro, with Rev. Craig Beeman and Rev. Casey Johnston officiating, visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro.
Tony, a geophysicist, was born February 23, 1963, to the union of Bennie Ray George and the late Auddie Pearl Fuller George, in Monroe, and passed from this life at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, January 18, 2024.
Tony was a caring husband, father, brother, and friend. After graduating from ULM with a bachelor's degree in physics and also a degree in Computer Science from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, he went on to become a successful geophysicist with C&C Technologies for over 30 years, then two years with Oceaneering after they purchased C&C. While in Lafayette he met and married Theresa, the mother of his son Cody George. Tony loved spending time in the woods or on the water. He was a man of few words; he said what he meant and did what he said.
Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Auddie George; his brother Chris George; and Theresa George, the mother of Cody George, his son.
Tony is survived by his father Bennie George; son Cody George; and his life partner of eighteen years, Carla Thibodeaux, of Broussard, LA.
