Graveside services for Rosie Sikes, 93, of Winnsboro, will be held 2 pm Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Providence Cemetery with Rev. Terry Smith officiating under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12 until 1:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Rosie was born January 24, 1932, in Baskin to the late Archie McDougle and the late Martha Jane Craven McDougle and passed from this life on December 10, 2025, at her residence in Winnsboro.
Rosie was a member of Sardis Baptist Church; she retired after 20 years of employment with LSU Extension Service. Rosie was an avid reader, who also enjoyed sewing, fishing, painting, and taking trips on the motorcycle with her husband Clarence.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence G. Sikes; three sisters: Mittie McCaa, Alice Jackson, and Emily Merriwether; and one brother, Walter McDougle.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jan Sikes of Winnsboro; one grandson, Billy Troha and wife Joyce of Haughton; two granddaughters: Amanda Graves and James Varnado, III, and Jolena Evans all of Winnsboro; two great grandsons: Tre' Troha and wife Kayla, and Slate Graves; one great-great grandson, Atlas Troha; and one sister, Trudy Bratton; a host of other relatives and friends.
