S.T. McDonald, Jr., a retired lineman for Louisiana Power and Light (Entergy) died unexpectedly at Franklin Medical Center May 18, 2023. Mr. McDonald was born January 8, 1944 and was a life-long resident of Franklin Parish. He was a graduate of Baskin High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) as a business major. He was also a licensed real estate agent and broker for several years, as well as an owner of the Community Grocery in Crowville, LA. Mr. McDonald served in the US Army and was in the Army reserves. He loved his God, his family, and his country with great passion.Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his parents, S.T. McDonald, Sr. and Mary Lee Corley McDonald, two brothers, Charlie and William Earl McDonald, a sister, Elaine McDonald Wiltshire, and the mother of his children, Bonnie Bryan McDonald, all of Baskin, LA.Survivors include his wife, Janis Armstrong McDonald of Winnsboro, LA, two daughters, Jennifer McDonald Tarver of Ruston, LA, and Carol McDonald Blount (Adam) of Monroe, LA, bonus children, Denise Hardy (Davis) of Monroe, LA and Johnette Pitre (Jimmy) of Ville Platte, LA, grandchildren Jon Tarver (Sara) of Baskin, LA and Sara Tarver of Ruston, LA, bonus grandchildren, Dave Hardy (Kelsey) of Gautier, MS, Derek Hardy (Megan) of Monroe, LA, and Victoria Saizan (Shane) of Pineville, LA, his great grandson and name sake, Nathaniel S.T. Tarver of West Monroe, LA, and bonus great grandchildren, Myers, Hutton, and Parker Hardy and Dawson Saizan.Mr. McDonald was a long-time member of Baskin Baptist Church and leaves behind many Christian brothers and sisters to not only grieve their loss but also celebrate his new, eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Services will be 12:30 pm Sunday May 21, 2023 at Baskin Baptist Church with Rev. Marion Spence officiating, under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.
