Graveside service for Shirley R. Taliaferro, 86 of Winnsboro will held 10 Am Thursday June 24, 2021 in New Winnsboro Cemetery with Rev. Frances Guy officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9-9:45 at Dennard First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
She was born to the union of Orville Alton and Lilla Mae Townsend Renfrow On June 7, 1935 in Winnsboro and passed from this life Monday, June 21, 2021 in Plantation Manor Nursing Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Taliaferro was a member of Winnsboro First United Church and a member of Pearls Sunday School Class. She worked for the Franklin Parish School Board for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond S. "Lefty" Taliaferro; son Rod Taliaferro; infant daughter Julie Ann Taliaferro; brothers Billy Renfrow, Tommy Sheldon Renfrow; and a sister Martha Ann Renfrow.
Mrs. Taliaferro is survived by a daughter Janie Cagle and husband Shorty of Crowville; siblings Orville Renfrow of Monroe, Charles E. Renfrow of Tucson, AZ and Joy Robinson and husband Bud of Ferriday; two grandsons Cass Cagle and wife Alexis of Gray, LA and Wes Cagle and wife Kathryn of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandson William; two bonus great grandsons Drake and Logan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), Alzheimers Association (www.act.alz.org/donate) or to Winnsboro First United Methodist Church.
