Funeral services for PFC Tanner W. Spillars, 18, of St. Joseph will be 2 PM Monday April 24, 2023, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Legion Memorial Cemetery, Newellton. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
Tanner was born June 24, 2004, to the union of John David Spillars and Ashley Lyndyn Mizell Spillars and passed from this life on April 19, 2023, in Tensas Parish.
Tanner was a Private First Class in the United States Marines; he enjoyed mud riding and playing video games.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W. M. and Helen Spillars.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his parents: John David and Ashley; one sister Lexus Spillars and fianc Daley Sesser; one niece Kolton; maternal grandparents, Larry and Ella Mizell; and canine brothers, Trooper and Gibbs.
