Graveside services for Thomas "Red" Payne, 82, of Tallulah will be 1:30 Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Northeast Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery, Rayville with Rev. Jeff Sykes officiating, under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 am - 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Red was born September 10, 1941 to the late Albert Clinton Payne and Rita Smart Payne and passed from this life on August 25, 2024, at his residence in Tallulah with his family by his side.
Red was a United States Army Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years Leavy Rose Payne of Tallulah; one daughter Tammy Payne Petty and husband C. J. of Tallulah; one grandson, Jack Petty of Tallulah; one granddaughter, Jessica Glascox of Delhi; three great grandsons: Logan Adcock, Landon Petty and Finlee Brown; three brothers: Albert Payne and wife Carolyn, James Payne and wife Kay, and Jimmy Payne all of Fort Necessity; one sister, Gemelia Welch of Monroe; a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Logan Adcock, David Brown, Carl Petty, Carl Edward Petty, Jack Petty, and Landon Petty.
Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Payne, Bo Payne, John Harris, Gilbert Tonnang, and Virgil Warren.
