Private graveside services for Vergie Mae Fowler, 80, of Winnsboro were held Sunday, May 3, 2020, in Harris Cemetery with Bro. Joe Erwin officiating, under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home.
Vergie was born May 24, 1939 in Harrisonburg to the union of Virgil and Lucy Amelia Mullins Dunn and passed from this life on May 2, 2020, in Monroe, LA.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Elzie P. Fowler and grandson Chad Humphries.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her son Ricky Fowler and wife Sharon Ruth, daughters: Tammie Humphries and husband Greg, Terri Fowler and Sharon Fowler; seven grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers: Lloyd Dunn and Ronnie Dunn; sisters: Nellie Mathews and Connie Erwin; special neighbors Arnold and Carol Massey and her other daughter Belinda Allen.
Moma always said for us to keep both hands on the plow and never look toward heaven for our rewards. Today she got hers and she wants the family to keep plowing.
The family would like to thank her son-in-law Greg Humphries for allowing her a place to live and all the food she could eat! Moma was very thankful and she loved you so much.
