Funeral services for Vickie Smith, 74, of Winnsboro will be held 2 pm Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Beeman officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the funeral home.

Vickie was born February 22, 1952, in Greensboro, NC, to the union of the late Benjamin Franklin Bordeaux and the late Lillie Belle Holloman and passed from this life on July 4, 2026, at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville with her family by her side.

Vickie enjoyed spending her time reading and writing stories. She was a published author writing stories for Women’s Day magazine.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Michael Smith; one son, Robert “Rocky” Renninger; and one granddaughter, Johanna Wiggins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Christopher Gainous and wife Sissy of Grayson, Patrick Miller of Calhoun, Melissa Wiggins and her husband Mitchell of Mangham, and Lola Thornton and her husband James “Jimbo” of Winnsboro; special daughter, Dana Talbert of Baskin; 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Gainous, Daniel King, Marshall McMahon, Neal Miller, Daniel Talbert, and James Thornton.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff Plantation Manor, Plantation Oaks, Legacy Nursing Center, Heart of Hospice, and Richardson Medical Center for the love and care you extended to our mother.
