Funeral services for Vonette Buchan, 77 of Crowville, LA will be held at 10 am Friday, March 22, 2024, at Crowville First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Ganey and Rev. Wade Coker officiating. Interment will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday, March 21, 2024, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro, LA
Mrs. Vonette was a faithful member of Crowville First Baptist and loved serving in her church. She retired from AT&T after 33 years as a phone technician. She loved gardening and her flowers, especially her Irises as well as all kinds of sports.
After a short battle with cancer, she passed peacefully at home Wednesday, March 20, 2024, on the same hill she was born on. Her love for her family was unparalleled. She showed unconditional love, support, and guidance always putting others needs above her own. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Lucille Buchan, sisters Nell Gilmore and Sue Hendricks and brothers Daniel Buchan and Billy Buchan.
She is survived by her sister, Wardna Dunham of Crowville, LA: nieces, Summer Greer and husband Nick of Crowville, LA, Cindy Vinson and husband Chris of Mangham, LA, Pam Maxwell of Winnsboro, LA, Polly Searcy and husband Steven Wayne of Winnsboro, LA, Linda McGrew and husband Don of West Monroe, LA, and Kim Jackson and husband Steve of Winnsboro, LA; nephews Lynn Buchan and wife Glenda of Winnsboro, LA, Gary Dunham and Roxanne of Sterlington, LA, and David and wife Sylvia of Delhi, LA; and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ben Beavers, Curtis Beavers, Nick Greer, Luke Amos, David Dunham, and Gary Dunham.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Crowville First Baptist Church.
