Funeral services for Mrs. Ouida Yvonne Crawford, 87, of Gilbert, LA will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church Gilbert, LA. Interment to follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Bobby Ensminger officiating. Visitation will be 11 AM Saturday until service time at Calvary Baptist Church, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.

Yvonne, a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went to heaven on November 25, 2024, after fiercely battling multiple health issues.

She was married for 51 years to the love of her life, Jerry, who preceded her in death. Together, they raised their two daughters, Diane and Ouida, in a Christ-centered home. As grandmother to Summer, Jeremy, Nathan, Chase, Justin and Drew, and great grandmother to Lacie, Taylor, Lilli, Rowan, Maddison, Emma Grace and Ford, she loved sharing stories from her childhood and listening to them as they shared theirs.

Yvonne was born the first child of James and Alice Delaney of Brookhaven, Mississippi and went to school in Crowville, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by both parents, siblings Betty Netherland, James Delaney, Johnny Delaney and Darlene Pounders, and one grandson Richard Allen John, Jr. and is survived by her daughters Diane John and her husband Richard, Ouida Sewell and her husband Randy; siblings Shirley Washington, Myrtle Martinez, Linda Smith and Michael Delaney; grandchildren Summer John, Jeremy Sewell, Nathan John, Chase John, Justin Sewell and Drew John; great grandchildren Lacie Parker, Taylor John, Lilli John, Maddison Sewell, Rowan John, Emma Grace John and Ford John.

Leading by example, Yvonne instilled her unwavering faith in Jesus and strong values in those she loved. She was a haven of prayer and support for her cherished extended family, friends and others in need of comfort and guidance.

Yvonne was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, taught childrens and womens Sunday School classes, was a member of the Womens Mission Union (WMU), enjoyed working in her yard and reading, and loved to study the Bible and spend time with her family.
